PROMECO specializes in the design and realization of plants for the production of refuse derived fuel (RDF), by sorting and size reduction operations on waste from selective collection (paper, plastics, metals), multi-material selected waste and waste (bulky) similar to municipal.
Agglomerated RDF productionWith its experience in the densification/agglomeration of different materials using the agglomerators/densifiers PES (Promeco Extrusion System), Promeco developed plants to produce densified RDF in briquettes or pellets.
RDF production from ASRPromeco has engineered a system for the production of RDF (refuse derived fuel) from ASR automotive shredder residues.
Vehicles at the end of their life are, after remediation (removal of fluids, oils, fuels, batteries), demolished. About 75% of the material components of the vehicle is recovered. In particular, the destruction and demolition/crushing of vehicles allows to recover the metal components.
The use of plastics in the construction industry has been a reality since decades.
The use of plastic pellets in traditional building materials has made it possible to obtain many advantages:
- The low thermal conductivity of plastics allows to obtain products with improved thermal insulation
- The low density of plastics determines an increase in yields in terms of material processed
- Minor wear on the mortars transmission lines and processing machines
- Decrease the elasticity modulus, while maintaining the strength of the material: this improves the resistance to cracking
PROMECO has developed several systems to recycle commingled mixed plastics fractions, usually collected from the MSW.
The recycling industry has long since found appropriate solutions to recycle, reuse and exploit the value of some recyclable polymers, in particular PET and HDPE bottles and containers or polyolefin films.
PROMECO has developed an innovative system for the treatment of medical waste (described by the EWC codes 18).
This system allows not only to fulfill the legal obligations related to the sterilization of potentially infectious medical waste, but also to obtain from the treated product a material that, for shape and characteristics, can be used as RDF (refuse derived fuel).
The proposed plant is designed to treat, dispose of and recover unsorted municipal solid waste for a total amount of 280 t / day (approximately 84,000 t / y), corresponding to a basin of about 210,000 inhabitants.
Pre-treatment for MSW organic fractionOFMSW Pretreatment for AD – PROMECO solutions
The combination of the BIO-EXTRUDER and Promeco Organic Extractor is an ideal solution to the problem of pre-treatment of organic matter sent to anaerobic digestion.
Goals are removing from the MSW organic fraction heavy and light impurities and pre-treating it to increase the efficiency of anaerobic digestion system.
Usually OFMSW from separate collection can have impurities and contamination around 15-17% of the weight. This value increases up to 25-28% when the organic fraction is coming from unsorted MSW mechanical treatment.
Lhose Systems
PROMECO has been representing for years in Italy the German company Lohse, one of the most reputed suppliers of systems for the treatment of biowaste for use in the anaerobic digestion wet.
The cooperation with Lohse allowed to the supply the system of the German company pre-treatment to some of the most important Italian industries in the field - both public and private.
Promeco’s BIOEXTRUDER© is the simple, easier and efficiency solution for the organic fraction treatment.
The technology comes from Promeco Extruder System machine used for a lots of years in the plastic and waste treatment sector.
PROMECO has recently developed an innovative system for the production of artificial peat from materials that are mostly composed by natural fibres (biomass, agricultural waste, wood chips, green waste, lignocellulosic fraction from composting facilities).
